MFA Launches Island‑Wide Assessment to Restore Facilities After Severe Weather
Local

The Malta Football Association has begun an island‑wide assessment to determine the full impact of the recent storm that swept across the Maltese Islands, causing significant disruption to sports facilities. Led by Vice‑President Dr Matthew Paris, the initiative brings together all member clubs and affiliated associations to compile a detailed account of the damage sustained.

The review aims to establish both the scale of the destruction and the most effective strategy for carrying out essential repairs. The MFA’s priority is to ensure that football infrastructure in Malta and Gozo is restored to its original condition, allowing clubs to resume normal activity as quickly as possible.

Member clubs have been asked to submit their reports by tomorrow, Friday 23 January 2026, enabling the association to coordinate a unified response. The MFA emphasised that timely cooperation will be crucial in planning the next steps toward recovery.
