Record For Two largest Firework Wheels On Gozo Rooftops

Over the weekend, hundreds of people gathered in Żebbuġ, Gozo for a stunning ground fireworks spectacle.

The highlight of the evening was the firing of the largest two Catherine wheels ever launched from a rooftop.

Synchronised with music, each wheel stood 40 feet high and 29 feet wide, producing a breathtaking display. In total, 2,079 shots were fired, setting a new record for the locality and for Malta.

The achievement was the work of the Għaqda tan-Nar Marija Assunta of Żebbuġ, Gozo, which organised the first edition of Luminaria Blu la Magia dell’Assunta.

A commemorative photograph was also taken in front of one of the biggest Catherine wheels ever constructed on the islands.
