Feeling The Chill? Malta’s November Is Off To A Colder Start Than Last Year
Local

Have you found yourself reaching for a jacket earlier than usual this year? You're not alone in feeling that November has brought a noticeable chill to the Maltese Islands!

But is Malta actually experiencing colder weather compared to the same time last year?

Weather data suggests that the beginning of November 2026 has indeed been cooler than the opening days of November 2025.

According to weather station data published by Weather and Climate, Malta recorded average daily temperatures of 16.8°C on 1st November, 17.8°C on 2nd November, 18.3°C on 3rd November and 17.1°C on 4th November.

That's an average of approximately 17.5°C over the first four days of November 2026.

Meanwhile, archived weather forecasts for Mosta show that the first four days of November 2025 were considerably milder, with daily averages ranging between 19.9°C and 20.5°C.

Although these figures come from different sources and locations, they suggest that this year's November has started on a cooler note.

And it's not just a comparison with last year!

Weather station figures also indicate that temperatures during the first four days of November 2026 were below the historical averages for those dates.

On 1st November alone, the daily average was approximately 3°C below the historical norm.

However, the colder start doesn't necessarily mean Malta is heading for an unusually cold winter. Temperatures can fluctuate significantly throughout November, and a few cooler days aren't enough to establish a longer-term trend.

In fact, forecasts from the UK Met Office suggest that daytime temperatures could reach around 20°C to 22°C over the coming week.

So, while it might feel like winter has arrived early, Malta could still have a few pleasantly warm November afternoons ahead!
