Yazmin Helledie Leads Push For Miscarriage Leave Policies

In an emotional post, Yazmin Helledie opened up about her painful experience of miscarriage after recently sharing her journey on a newspaper to advocate for dedicated miscarriage leave.
“Change begins with stories, and this is ours,” she writes, expressing her hope that couples will soon have the time they need to grieve and heal before returning to daily life.
Yazmin emphasises that the road to recovery after miscarriage is difficult and time off is essential for healing “This leave is a recognition that this is a real loss, even at the beginning of pregnancy”.
She ended her post by thanking Buzz, her baby, for teaching her strength through the hardest moment of her life.
Her story is part of a government consultation with survivors, medical professionals and employers to create miscarriage leave policies. A national conference this week will focus on establishing best practices to support those affected.
