The world’s first jet charter company exclusively for dogs, BARK Air, has taken off.
Launched by dog toy company BARK in partnership with a jet charter service, this luxury airline ensures dogs of all sizes and their owners travel “in comfort and in style,” according to CEO Matt Meeker. The inaugural flight from New York to Los Angeles sold out, and flights for June are quickly filling up.

BARK Air aims to revolutionize canine air travel. Unlike traditional flights, these dogs are prioritized and treated as VIPs, not as cargo.
The company spent 10 years developing this service to ensure a stress-free experience for dogs. Pet owners can expect to pay $6,000 for domestic and $8,000 for international one-way flights.
Currently, BARK Air operates from Westchester County Airport (HPN) in New York to Van Nuys (VNY) in Los Angeles and Biggin Hill (BQH) in London.
The service includes “white glove” pampering for pooches, with food, water, and even in-flight spa treatments. A concierge assesses each dog’s temperament for optimal placement on the plane. Dogs are free to sit wherever comfortable, without cages or leashes.

Flights accommodate 15 dogs and their owners, but only 10 tickets are sold per flight to ensure space. Children under 18 are not allowed to fly BARK Air.
