Work Begins On Inclusive Sensory Garden In Paola

Work has begun on a new 5,000 square metre garden in Paola, designed for individuals with autism and mobility challenges.
Located near the Corradino prison and Aġenzija Sapport day centre, the space will feature multi-sensory elements like balance trails, stepping logs, and social zones to promote movement and interaction.
Plans also include a Special Olympics-standard bocce pitch and an upgraded, accessible basketball court. The garden is being developed with full accessibility in mind.
The project is a joint effort between Project Green and Aġenzija Sapport. Ministers Miriam Dalli and Julia Farrugia said the initiative supports inclusive green spaces and aligns with Malta’s National Autism Strategy.
