On Halloween, a pregnant woman, Laura Ortiz, decided to lighten the mood as she headed to the hospital for labour induction by dressing up in a costume.
In a TikTok video that went viral, Ortiz and her husband, Reid Halvorson, entered Skyridge Medical Center in Colorado dressed as two versions of Thor from the Marvel movies. Ortiz sported the “Lazy Thor” look with a full beard, wig, and sledgehammer, while Halvorson wore a red leather vest, channeling Thor: Love and Thunder.
They brought treats and snacks for the hospital staff to add to the fun.

Ortiz, who faced preeclampsia and gestational diabetes during her pregnancy, planned the Halloween delivery to ease her anxiety.
She wanted to bring her daughter, Emilia, into the world in a joyful, lighthearted atmosphere, and transformed her delivery room into a “party room.” Later that night, she successfully welcomed Emilia, describing the experience as one of the most fun and memorable days of her life.
Ortiz shared how the costumes helped her shift her focus from fear to fun, inspiring others to embrace positivity during childbirth. Her story resonated widely, with many people sharing their own family’s Halloween-themed birth stories.
