Her suspicious behaviour led officers to detain her, and x-ray tests, conducted with the help of Customs officials, revealed packages of the drug hidden mainly inside her stomach.

This high-risk smuggling attempt held an estimated street value of nearly €130,000.

Following the arrest, the woman was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for medical examination and safe removal of the concealed drugs.

She is set to face court today, where she will be charged in front of Magistrate Dr. Noel Bartolo.
