Demand and price of corgis sky-rockets after Queen’s funeral

Demand and price of corgis sky-rockets after Queen's funeral

The demand for and the cost of corgis have doubled to new heights since the late Queen Elizabeth II’s passing and funeral… and let’s be frank. It was expected.

Pets4Homes, the UK’s largest pet marketplace told AFP that it was currently experiencing over ten times the volume of daily searches for corgis when compared to a week before the monarch’s funeral.

One of the small dogs now sells for over £2,500 for the first time, outranking prices which were reached during the pandemic – a period of time when people were seeking four-legged house companions due to loneliness.

Queen Elizabeth II was well known for her love of the small herding canines, with her last two corgis Muick and Sandy being handed over to Prince Andrew following her passing.

All of the Queen’s dogs took a prominent role in public appearances, even appearing in the James Bond clip filmed for the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.

They even made an appearance at the funeral itself, giving their beloved human mother the final goodbye as they start a new life with the prince.

The rain comes back this week as Malta bids farewell to summer

The rain comes back this week as Malta bids farewell to summer
Sep 26 2022 Share

According to various Maltese weather forecasters, the rainy weather we got the first taste of last week is set to return for this upcoming week ahead.

The main weather forecast is expected to be mainly cloudy all the way through to Sunday, but isolated showers are also expected.

Some forecasters predict the rain as late as Wednesday, whereas others forecast the downpour by as early as today evening. It does seem as though there will be no rough storms however.

The highest temperatures are expected to be at around 28°C, with the lowest 24°C for today. The lowest temperatures could go down to around 21°C by Tuesday.

To aid the chilly weather, winds are also set to be at around Force 4 to 5, despite being quite humid, Facebook page ‘It-Temp Madwarna’ states.

Suffice to say, it’s goodbye days by the sea and hello cozy clothes, fireplace tea-time and a scenic evening looking out of the window as droplets patter onto the glass.
