Watch: Little Turtles Hatch From Ġnejna Nest

The Ġnejna turtle nest has now fully hatched, with an impressive total of 79 hatchlings emerging safely.

Wildlife Rescue Team Malta shared footage from the hatching, calling the moment magical.

Following a busy few nights, dedicated officials from the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) alongside volunteers from Nature Trust Malta (NTM) carefully opened the nest to ensure all the turtles had hatched.

There are still five nests around the Maltese islands that need to hatch. And teams by local environment groups are ready to ensure they all hatch and venture off into the seas.
