Watch: Fans sing happy birthday to Bukayo Saka as he turns 20

Sep 8 2021 Share

In England’s last match, fans could be heard singing happy birthday to player of the match Bukayo Saka in his post match interview. England comfortably beat Andorra, beating the tiny nation 4-0. Bukayo Saka played a brilliant match scoring a goal and providing 2 assists to Jesse Lingard.

The game wasn’t close at all as England played with confidence and never let Andorra get into the game. Jesse Lingard and Bukayo Saka were the stars of the show. Lingard scored twice and showed his doubters that he can still do it on the big stage. Saka wasn’t the only player with a birthday as Leeds striker Patrick Bamford also celebrated his 28th birthday and his England debut.

With academic institutions of various levels set to start in the coming weeks, University of Malta student council KSU has published a statement on the ‘lack of clarity on the upcoming academic year’.

Emergency doctors working at Mater Dei Hospital have reported that many of them have underwent psychiatric training due to the surge in patients seeking help from mental disorders stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Increased isolation, social distancing and overall anxiety as a result of the pandemic may have contributed to the increase in patients. Consultant psychiatrist Maria Bezzina Xuereb and higher specialist psychiatry trainee Emma Saliba told Times of Malta of cases with patients reporting chest pains due to anxiety.

Some cases of self-harm were also reported, with isolation causing depression and loneliness especially amongst the elderly and substances abusers suffering from withdrawal symptoms.
