Successful business owners, event-planning masterminds and so much more; past ITS students celebrate their status as ITS alumni every single day. That being said, here are 5 people who studied at ITS!

Lee Garrard – Owner at Kir Royal Café

Lee began his journey in hospitality as a pool boy in one of Malta’s leading hotels. He enjoys meeting people from different nations, and he knew that working in the hospitality industry would be his career. From enrolling with ITS for the Diploma in Food & Beverage Service Operations to embarking on his one-year internship programme in an exclusive London hotel, Lee built an unmatched repertoire of skills.

Nowadays, he is the proud owner of Kir Royal Café, tucked away in our enchanting capital city, Valletta. A small outlet focusing on quality and quintessential service.

Ruth Savona – Event Planning Manager at Grand Hyatt Dubai

From having an interest in hospitality in her Junior College days to developing a passion for meeting new people and learning about hotel operations from working part-time in Malta’s leading 5-star hotels, Ruth’s career goals were always set. Nothing seemed right for her when she came to choose a University course, until she came across the ITS website and found the Hospitality Management course.

With an academic experience which exceeded even her own expectations, Ruth attended an international internship before deciding to make her way to one of the world’s leading hospitality cities in Dubai. Today, she is the Event Planning Manager at the Grand Hyatt Dubai and thanks to ITS, she had the right tools and know-how to kickstart her career.

Letizia Vella – Head Chef & Owner at The Golden Fork

Letizia started studying with ITS quite late at age 21 as she decided to pursue her dreams in culinary arts. Thanks to the instructors, advisors, curriculum and facilities at ITS, Letizia went on to became the owner and head chef of beloved local establishment The Golden Fork.

Developing creativity, confidence and experience from the Institute’s internship opportunities and building a broad foundation of technical knowledge through ITS’ curriculum, Letizia got her foot in the right doors and successfully climbed the professional ladder.

Jonathan Pace – General Manager at Corinthia Budapest

Joining ITS in 1998 and sitting for the Higher National Diploma in Hospitality Management, Jonathan Pace now holds the role of General Manager at one of Budapest’s most prestigious hotels. From spending a one-year internship at the world-renowned Gleneagles Hotel to developing his hospitality skills in Prague, St. Petersburg and finally Budapest, Jonathan’s journey could not have been possible without him joining ITS.

The above journey could not have been possible had Jonathan not joined ITS and he can only recommend anyone who would like to pursue a career in hospitality to do the same.

Chrysander Agius – Business Owner and Events Manager

A jack of all trades in the local events and media industry, Chrysander Agius (better known as just Sander) graduated from ITS. His studies were the formation of many events and businesses throughout his career.

ITS helped to improve his management skills, understand the framework of catering operations and even master the eye for detail. He now specialises in event organisation and that is where the training and knowledge kicks in. ITS allowed Chrysander to develop his persona and master his skills and recommends anyone wanting to work in the events scene to apply for a study programme.
