Warning Against Swimming Below Mediterranean Street, Valletta

The Environmental Health Directorate within the Superintendence of Public Health has issued a warning against bathing in the area below the Mediterranean Conference Centre on Mediterranean Street, Valletta.

This advisory, issued in line with the Bathing Water Directive, states that the current water quality poses a potential health risk to bathers.

Environmental Health Officers are currently investigating the situation to identify the source of the contamination.

Clear signage has been placed in the affected area to inform the public of the risk and to discourage bathing.

Once the water quality improves and meets acceptable health standards, the warning signs will be removed.

A follow-up press release will be issued to confirm that the site is safe for bathing again. Authorities urge the public to respect this guidance in the interest of public health.
