Victims of domestic violence to be granted free legal aid

Justice Minister Edward Zammit Lewis and Dr. Lydia Abela have just inaugurated new office premises in Valletta which will provide free legal aid to victims of domestic violence.

The offices are part of the 16 days of activism against domestic violence and are funded by a €1.4 million investment.

Parliamentary Secretary for Equality Rosianne Cutajar has stated that this free service is for victims of domestic violence and is part of a process to uplift and motivate victims of this violence.

Conor McGregor called out by YouTuber Jake Paul

Following his knockout win over Nate Robinson, Jake Paul has issued a challenge to sports superstar Conor McGregor, vowing to beat the Irish champion. 

The 23-year-old YouTuber has been making headline after headline after his recent foray into boxing, also hinting a potential match-up against fellow YouTuber KSI.

Boxing champion Amanda Serrano spoke out against the stupidity of celebrating boxing, stating that it is a serious sport and not be used to generate YouTube engagement:

Debenhams is closing its doors after 242 years

Debenhams, a leader in the British retail industry will be closing its doors due to the business collapse that happened during the coronavirus pandemic. It is set to liquidate its business which accounts for about 12,000 employees.

The company has been around for 242 years, and was attempting to sell all of the company or even parts of it.

JD Sports was an interested buyer but they are thought to have stopped showing interest and pulled out of deal conversations.

Revolut launch web application

The game-changing mobile finance application has shifted from it’s mobile-only accessibility by officially launched a web-based application. 

The company’s 13 million users can now access their purchase history and cards whilst also being able to top up their account and utilise customer care from the comfort of their desktop computers.

The app’s CEO and founder, Nik Storonsky has stated that the web-application has been widely requested by their users to they are happy to finally bring this level of accessibility to both mobile and desktop.
