Valletta New Year’s Eve event replaced by a TV variety show

The annual New Year’s Eve celebrations in Valletta have been cancelled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Valletta Cultural Agency have planned a variety show instead of the traditional celebrations.

The show will run for three hours and will feature different national and international talent. This variety show will start at 10PM on the 31st of December 2020 and will run until 1AM on the 1st of January 2021.

Black Mirror creator is planning a Netflix mockumentary about 2020

Charlie Brooker, the creator of ‘Black Mirror’, is planning a mockumentary for Netflix and it will star Hugh Grant. This production is centered around 2020 being the year from hell.

Not much information has been shared with the public about this project, but Hugh Grant did reveal in an interview that he’ll be a historian who’s being interviewed about the year 2020.

Victims of domestic violence to be granted free legal aid

Justice Minister Edward Zammit Lewis and Dr. Lydia Abela have just inaugurated new office premises in Valletta which will provide free legal aid to victims of domestic violence.

The offices are part of the 16 days of activism against domestic violence and are funded by a €1.4 million investment.

Parliamentary Secretary for Equality Rosianne Cutajar has stated that this free service is for victims of domestic violence and is part of a process to uplift and motivate victims of this violence.

Conor McGregor called out by YouTuber Jake Paul

Following his knockout win over Nate Robinson, Jake Paul has issued a challenge to sports superstar Conor McGregor, vowing to beat the Irish champion. 

The 23-year-old YouTuber has been making headline after headline after his recent foray into boxing, also hinting a potential match-up against fellow YouTuber KSI.

Boxing champion Amanda Serrano spoke out against the stupidity of celebrating boxing, stating that it is a serious sport and not be used to generate YouTube engagement:
