UM Racing Finishes 9th In UK: Build Electric Vehicle On Track

The UM Racing team has marked a historic achievement at the IMeche Formula Student competition by becoming the first Maltese group to design, build and race an electric vehicle on the international stage.

Held on 22 July, the event drew 120 teams from the UK and abroad. Only 59 qualified for the racing events and just 24 passed scrutineering, which included strict technical and safety checks. UM Racing’s entry was among them.
Despite heavy rain, the Maltese team successfully completed the endurance race of 25 laps, finishing 8th overall. Only 14 cars managed to reach the end.

Across static and dynamic categories, UM Racing placed 9th, finishing ahead of several established international teams while proudly carrying the Maltese flag.
