Ukrainians in Malta gather in Valletta one year since war began

A peaceful rally in Valletta by Ukrainians in Malta and their supporters saw many flock to Malta’s capital city to create a ‘living map of Ukraine’.
The participants met near Malta’s parliament, holding lfashliffhts in their hands, all glistening blue and/or yellow, to signify the colours of the Ukrainian flag. The flashmob used the hashtag #LightWillWinOverDarkness as its official slogan in order to commemorate the first-year anniversary since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched his full scale invasion of the neighbouring country.
The invasion is still ongoing, with Russia’s plans to overthrow Ukraine’s government still unfulfilled. Meanwhile, Western countries are still showing their support to Ukraine as well as its President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Sanctions on Russia are continuously imposed, with countries like the USA and France pledging to hand over military equipment to help Ukraine win the war.
