A TikTok shared by user sarahfaydesigns showcases the stunning beauty of the Mosta Rotunda.

For many, the Sanctuary Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady, known commonly as the Rotunda, is something that is passed by on a daily basis.

However, for a tourist just experiencing the Mediterranean Island, the architecture, the art and the history the church boasts is understandably a moving experience!

The church was built between 1833 and 1860, and is well known for its story of having narrowly avoided destruction during WWII when a German aerial bomb pierced the dome and fell inside during Mass.

However, the bomb failed to explode, going on to add to the lore and the deep spiritual association for many Christians in Malta.
