Total Solar Eclipse Stuns North America

Total Solar Eclipse Stuns North America
Local

During a total solar eclipse, a swath of North America was enveloped in darkness as the moon obscured the sun completely for over four minutes in certain locations along its path from Mexico, through the United States, and into Canada.

Thousands of people and amateur astronomers did not pass up this opportunity, as the next total solar eclipse will take place on August 12th 2026 but will be viewable from the Arctic, eastern Greenland, Spain and Iceland.

Unfortunately for us Maltese, the next total solar eclipse will take place 64 years from now on the 21st of April 2088. However, next year, on the 7th of September, Malta will be able to witness a total lunar eclipse.

But if you still want to get a taste, a partial lunar eclipse will take place on the 18th of September 2024!
