Three Poachers Caught Illegally Trapping And Hunting Birds
Local

Three suspected poachers have been reported in Malta after being caught by bird protection groups during a coordinated camp against illegal hunting and trapping.

In one case, a man was found hunting in a protected area where all shooting is strictly forbidden.

In another, a joint team from the Committee Against Bird Slaughter (CABS) and BirdLife Malta recorded video evidence of a man allegedly shooting down a kestrel.

The footage shows the suspect stretching the bird, and when police intervened, they discovered blood and feathers on his jacket.

A third incident occurred on the island of Gozo, where a bird trapper was caught operating an illegal wader trapping site.

Police swiftly seized nets and decoy devices from the location. The trapper reacted with fury, verbally abusing the CABS team and issuing a torrent of death threats before being dealt with by authorities.

In a post on FaceBook, the Committee Against Bird Slaughter (CABS) shared the details of these three situations, raising awareness about the alleged animal cruelty.
