The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’ now Spotify’s most streamed song in history

The Weeknd’s ‘Blinding Lights’ has surpassed ‘Shape of You’ by Ed Sheeran to become the most streamed song in Spotify history.

According to @chartdata, ‘Blinding Lights’ has so far racked up 3.332 billion streams on the music platform, which is slightly higher than Sheeran’s hit. The two songs share a same space however as the only ones which surpass the 3 billion mark on Spotify to date.The third spot, at 2.726 billion streams, is Tones & I’s Dance Monkey, followed by ‘Someone You Loved’ by Lewis Capaldi and ‘Rockstar’ by Post Malone to round off the top 5.

This comes as The Weeknd plans on releasing the video to ‘Is There Someone Else’ on the 1 year anniversary of ‘Dawn FM’ on the 7th of January.
