Adrian Delia and Bernard Grech address protest in front of parliament

Adrian Delia and Bernard Grech address protest in front of parliament
Feb 27 2023 Share

Current Opposition leader Bernard Grech and former Nationalist Party leader Adrian Delia addressed the protest in front of parliament together as they spoke about the Vitals-Steward Healthcare court ruling.

Delia addressed the crowd, saying that former Labour Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, whom he called the most corrupt politician in Maltese history, is responsible for the fraudulent case.

He went on to say that acting Prime Minister Robert Abela is just as responsible for the stealing of millions from the Maltese population through the corrupt deal.

Delia finished his discourse that all those responsible to answer, one-by-one, for their involvement in the deal and called on the government to find a way to bring back the money that the ‘Maltese population was robbed off.’

On his part, and to chants of ‘Labour are thieves’, current leader Bernard Grech thanked the crowd for coming to the protest and said that Robert Abela had been defending the deal since 2015, when he acted as legal advisor to then prime minister Joseph Muscat.

Abela was active in his work to not let the hospitals return to the people, said Grech. He went on to say that there are no Nationalist or Labour supporters, but a Maltese population fighting together against corruption.

Grech finished by calling for another protest this coming Sunday, to continue putting pressure on the government to assume responsibility for the findings of the court case.

Crowds of people have gathered to attend the protest held by the Nationalist Party in front of Malta’s parliament.

The protest, titled ‘Gives Us Back the Hospitals’, was called by the Opposition as current leader Bernard Grech and former leader Adrian Delia rally the party against the Vitals-Steward deal which was nullified last week.

The case was spearheaded by former PN leader Adrian Delia, who received massive support for his work in taking on the case, which resulted in Judge Franco Depasquale ruling that the Gozo General Hospital, St Luke’s Hospital, and Karin Grech Hospital be returned to the government due to fraud and the failure to meet targets.

Follow MaltaDaily for more as PN figures are expected to address the protest later on.
