A new fashion trend has emerged and we honestly don’t know what to think. The ‘Jellyfish Bob Mullet’ or simply, the ‘Jelly Fish Bob’ has taken over the world, with social media users and celebrities alike jumping on the trend like it’s nobody’s business.

Named as such because of its resemblance to the aquatic sea creature which has taken over Malta this summer, the hairstyle trend has equally taken over the globe with its short bob-style outer layer and long, mullet-like back.

In fact, the jellyfish bob hashtag has amassed over 43 billion views on TikTok, with everyone from random social media users to actress Nicole Kidman taking to the platform to show their brand new hairdo.

3 active cases of monkeypox found in Malta

Malta currently has 3 active cases of monkeypox at the moment. This was confirmed to Newsbook.com.mt by a spokesperson for the Ministry of Health.

It was also confirmed that none of the 3 cases needed intensive care from Mater Dei. The first ever case of monkeypox in Malta was reported on the 28th of May and was a 38-year old Maltese resident who had just visited a foreign country.

On the 16th of August, Health Minister Chris Fearne confirmed on his Twitter account that the first dose of the monkeypox vaccine arrived in Malta and would be given to those who were in contact with people who currently suffer or suffered from the virus.

Swieqi residents angry over garbage piles and loud parties reveals mayor

Swieqi mayor Noel Muscat has expressed his frustration at the issues & problems that the locality has been facing in regards to garbage pile being let outside short-let apartments and various night disturbances popping up in the town.

Muscat told Times of Malta “the mushrooming of short-let flats in the locality has caused a major headache as several bags of rubbish are deposited on the pavements at any time on any day, whenever these are cleaned for quick changeovers.”

He also revealed that he has been called many times from various people who are “losing it” with the thrash issue.

They are “so fed up that they are not reasoning any more”, said the frustrated mayor, continuing on by saying that they have reached “the point of enormous frustration where they are no longer up for discussing and just tell me to do something about it”.

He also confirmed that the local council does not have the necessary funds available to properly take care of this problem and that government intervention is needed.

Muscat said that, as of right now, requests to meet the relevant ministers have only been passed onto their assistants and feedback to detailed reports was not forthcoming.
