According to Malta Islands Weather, the country is showing early signs of its first heatwave.
The strong northwesterly wind currently sweeping across the islands is expected to subside by Thursday night.
Following that, temperatures will steadily climb throughout the week, ushering in increasingly hotter days.
Starting Friday, Malta is likely to enter a prolonged dry spell, with no rain in sight. Forecasts suggest that by June 7 or possibly even earlier daily temperatures could regularly hit 30°C.
