South Korea beat Portugal to make it to Round of 16

Dec 2 2022 Share

South Korea have managed to qualify to the knockout stages after narrowly beating Portugal with a last minute goal.

This means that both Uruguay and Ghana have been knocked out in what will be described as a disappointing tournament for both teams.

The game started with Portugal dominating the Asian scoring an opener as early as the 5th minute from attacking midfielder Ricardo Horta.

However South Korea managed to equalize in the 27th minute after Ronaldo from a Korean corner  mistaking gave the ball to Kim Young-gwon  who smashed it past Diogo Costa.

In the dying minutes of the game Korean striker Hwang Hee-chan shocked the entire footballing world giving South Korea the lead against Portugal and a place in the knockout places when nobody expected it.

South Korea will now most probably face Brazil in what will be a tough task to complete whilst Portugal will play one of Serbia, Cameroon or Switzerland.

Airplane mode could very soon be a thing of the past

Dec 2 2022 Share

Passengers travelling in the EU region will soon be able to make calls while flying.

Airlines can provide 5G technology and slower mobile data. This means passengers will also be able to stream music and videos.

The specifics of how this will be implemented are still unclear.

This could mean the end of airplane mode as we know it!

Recovered Jake Vella to hold marathon for abandoned animals

Recovered Jake Vella to hold marathon for abandoned animals
Dec 2 2022 Share

Jake Vella, a young boy who was previously named Malta’s ambassador for sports, has recently emerged from recovery and will be organised an animal welfare oriented marathon walk.

Jake Vella suffers from ROHHAD, which is a condition which keeps him gaining weight rapidly despite him living an otherwise healthy lifestyle.

He was recently admitted to hospital due to health complications, with tributes pouring in for the young boy in support. And now, as he returns to continue his love for sport, he has come up with an event for a good cause.

‘Paw Walk’ will aim to raise awareness on abandoned animals. Starting from the main entrance of Mater Dei, it will end at the Pet Cabin. Treats for dogs will be distributed at the end of the walk, with dog owners encouraged to join.

Walk will happen on Sunday 18th December 1030am, with a donation of €5.
