TAG SOMEONE WHO LOVED THIS

Following the huge success of ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’, the teen sitcom sequel series ‘Suite Life on Deck’ premiered on Disney Channel on the September 26th, 2008 – that’s 15 years ago today!

The series follows twin brothers Zack and Cody Martin, along with London Tipton and Mr Moseby from the previous series, taking to the high seas aboard the SS Tipton.

The series introduced many new faces and kept the humour we grew to to love when the twins were getting down to shenanigans at the hotel.

However, the series also focused on growing and developing the characters as they continued their studies and explored new relationships.

The series premiere on DISNEY CHANNEL in the US drew in 5.7 million viewers and became the most watched series premiere in Canada on the Family Channel. It even managed to outpace Hannah Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place by becoming TV’s No.1 series in Kids 6-11 and NO. 1 scripted series in tweens 9-14 in 2008.

Malta Sends Further Humanitarian Aid To Libya

The Ministry for Home Affairs, Security Reforms and Equality, in partnership with the Muslim community, is assisting in providing humanitarian aid to the Libyan city of Derna, which is still recovering from the massive floods it experienced a few weeks ago.

The stockpile is currently being held at the Ħal Far Open Centre.

During a visit to the centre, Minister for Home Affairs, Security, Reforms and Equality Byron Camilleri, the Muslim community’s Imam Mohammed Elsadi and AWAS’ Chief Executive Clayton Xuereb noted that a substantial amount of clothes, foodstuffs and other humanitarian aid started being collected in just a few days.

Minister Camilleri said that on behalf of the government, he immediately took up Imam Elsadi’s plea for continued Maltese aid to Libya and the provision of humanitarian supplies to Derna. Minister Camilleri referred to the government’s commitment to assist the Libyan population in such a difficult time and the immediate search and rescue aid mission, Civil Protection Department and Armed Forces of Malta personnel conducted in Derna.

Imam Mohammed Elsadi voiced the Muslim community’s gratitude for Libya’s aid, over the years, to Muslims living in Malta and noted that this aid is now being reciprocated. Imam Elsadi acknowledged the support the Maltese government gave Libya during the past weeks after the devastation caused by the floods and for AWAS’s acceptance to be used as a logistical hub in the humanitarian aid mission.

In a recent TikTok video, the Canadian-Maltese shared a snap of his grandfather in front of a door, only to transition to himself standing in front of the same door.

“Today was a special day”, Houle wrote, “I got to walk the streets of Valletta where my Nannu gew up. Where he played as a child and where he left to start a new life many years ago.”

He concluded the post with a heartfelt sentiment, stating “I can’t begin express what it means to be able to stand where he once did, in the place that influenced our family’s deep roots of Maltese culture. I can feel you smiling down on us as we are walking the city you loved so dearly.”
