Statue Of St Peter Carried By Boat In Birżebbuġa Village Feast

Malta is well known for its village feasts and the statue processions that ensue.

But one is utterly unique to Birżebbuġa as the statue of St Peter is placed on a boat and a procession at sea takes place off the coast of the locality.

Soċjeta Filarmonika San Pietru Banda Birżebbuġa A.D. 1990 shared photos from this year’s procession as the statue of the saint sailed from St George’s Bay into Pretty Bay.

Spectators followed either from on land or with boats of their own.
