Prime Minister Robert Abela said during this morning’s political event, that Malta is statistically performing best at vaccinating people against COVID-19.
The Prime Minister also noted that March and May have been identified as realistic timelines for Malta commencement of economic recovery.
It will be a long road back to normality but we’ll be starting on the road soon.

The UK has been in lockdown since the end of December, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that he is optimistic about announcing a set of rules aimed at the easing of restrictions.
Apart from the discussion of the re-opening of school, people will also be allowed to sit on a park bench with a coffee or enjoy a picnic with someone either in their home or one person from another household.
Further mixing between more than one person of another household will not be permitted until later dates.

Malta has registered 138 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 2,831 swab tests, while 109 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.
As of Saturday 13th February 2021, 50,175 vaccine doses were administered.
To date, Malta has registered 19,789 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 17,126 have recovered, 293 died and 2,370 are still active.

Minister for Finance, Clyde Caruana has said in an interview with the ‘Illum’ newspaper, that Air Malta is making a loss of €170,000 per day. This amounts to just over €5.2 million per month and around €62 million a year.
The Minister also said that if the company wasn’t in the best of states before the pandemic, it’s definitely in very bad shape now.
The Maltese Government will be proposing a plan which includes financial aide in front of the European Union. Caruana said that if the EU decides not to help with this project, Air Malta might have to close its doors for good.
