Stars Of Fire: Annual Fireworks Show Dazzled Sliema For Stella Maris Feast

The third Sunday of August marked the Feast of Our Lady Star of the Sea in Sliema, also known as Stella Maris, a celebration renowned for its vibrant decorations, festive atmosphere, and spectacular fireworks display. Thousands of locals and visitors gathered to enjoy the event, which took place on the eve of the feast.

The Stars of Fire show, a fireworks display synchronized with music, had been the dream of members of the Għaqda tan-Nar Stella Maris association. Around a decade ago, this vision had become reality, lighting up the skies above the Sliema seafront for the very first time.

This year, the association’s members once again prepared a breathtaking display, which took place on Saturday, 23 August 2025, along the Sliema promenade.

The show began at approximately 9:30 PM, featuring a dazzling array of fireworks effects. The highlight, the Stars of Fire pyromusical display, took place at 11 PM, combining music and fireworks in a truly unforgettable spectacle.
