Stargate Studios Malta Receives Emmy Nomination For Work On Black Mirror Episode

Stargate Studios Malta has earned a prestigious Emmy nomination for its visual effects work on the standout Black Mirror episode, ‘USS Callister – Into Infinity’, part of the latest season of the acclaimed anthology series.

The studio announced the nomination with excitement, calling the news “massive” and expressing deep gratitude to its team and collaborators. The episode, known for its striking and innovative visuals, was led by VFX supervisor Jonathan Caruana, whose work played a pivotal role in bringing the surreal, futuristic world of the story to life.

“We are absolutely chuffed,” Stargate Studios Malta shared in a statement, adding thanks to the Black Mirror creative team; Charlie Brooker, Josie Henwood, and James MacLachlan for entrusting them with the project once again.

With awards night fast approaching, the studio says it’s “fingers crossed”, but already considers the nomination itself an honour.
