Replay have exclusively revealed that Żabbar St Patrick are set to make a change on the bench after a difficult spell in the Closing Round, with head coach Aniello Parisi expected to depart.

The club’s administration is understood to have reached an internal agreement that a managerial change is required in an effort to halt the team’s decline. Parisi, who has been at the helm for just over a year, successfully steered Żabbar to safety last season, but performances and results have failed to pick up in the current campaign.

According to Replay, former Malta and Valletta captain Gilbert Agius has emerged as the leading contender to take over. The 51-year-old has been without a club for more than nine months following his last role with Indonesian top-flight side PSIS Semarang and is eager to return to the dugout.

Should his appointment be confirmed, Agius could make his debut on Friday in a challenging fixture against reigning champions Ħamrun Spartans.
