Xavier Saliba Appointed Senior and Youth Coach at Gozitan Side Għajnsielem FC

Għajnsielem F.C. have confirmed the appointment of Xavier Saliba as part of the club’s coaching structure for the upcoming 2026–2027 season, marking a new chapter for both the senior team and the academy setup.

Saliba announced the move on social media, expressing his enthusiasm about joining the club in a dual role as Senior Team Assistant Coach and Academy Head Coach.

“I am delighted to begin this new chapter with Ghajnsielem FC, taking on the roles of Senior Team – Assistant Coach and Academy – Head Coach,” he wrote. He described the opportunity as a significant challenge that will take him outside his comfort zone, but added that he is “truly excited and motivated to give my all, both with the senior team and within the academy.”

He also thanked the club committee and all those involved in bringing the move to fruition, highlighting their commitment throughout the process.

In an official club statement, Għajnsielem F.C. welcomed Saliba, confirming that he will lead the academy while also supporting the senior team coaching staff.

The club noted that Saliba holds a UEFA A Coaching Licence and brings valuable experience across both youth and senior football. During his career, he has worked with San Ġwann F.C., where he played a key role in youth development while also gaining exposure within senior team environments.

Għajnsielem F.C. expressed confidence that Saliba’s professionalism, knowledge, and passion for youth development will strengthen the academy structure as the club continues to invest in nurturing young talent and improving its overall football pathway.
