VIVA MALTA WINS ON DEBUT AT ROMA PER TUTTI REGATTA

Malta celebrated a historic moment in sailing as the Viva Malta Cookson 50 claimed line honours on its debut at the prestigious Roma Per Tutti offshore race.

The Malta National Offshore Sailing Team crossed the finish line first at 08:39:10hrs, marking an incredible achievement in one of the Mediterranean’s most respected sailing events.

Competing together for the very first time, the team delivered a standout performance to secure top honours against strong international competition.

The result represents a major milestone for Maltese sailing, highlighting both the talent and growing strength of the national team on the international stage.

Minister for Sport Clifton Grima praised the achievement, describing it as a historic success for Malta. “It-tim nazzjonali Malti tal-ibburdjar jikseb l-unuri fir-Roma Per Tutti bid-dgħajsa Viva Malta. Prosit lill-atleti tagħna għal dan is-suċċess storiku,” he said.

The victory has sparked excitement within the local sporting community, with more updates expected as celebrations continue.
