Valletta FC president Claudio Grech has hailed the club’s youth team after they secured the BOV Youth League A title with a commanding 4–1 victory over Melita FC.

The result sealed the championship in emphatic fashion, with the young Lilywhites needing only a point heading into the match. Instead, they delivered a dominant performance that capped off an impressive season defined by consistency, discipline, and collective belief.

Grech described the triumph as a defining moment for the club’s long-term vision, stressing that it represents far more than just a trophy. He highlighted the importance of the “Gen-V” project, which has prioritised youth development, patience, and long-term planning over short-term fixes.

“There are moments in football that go beyond winning,” Grech said, reflecting on the significance of the achievement. He praised the players for their commitment to the project, as well as the coaching staff who remained committed to developing the next generation of talent.

The victory also ensures Valletta’s qualification for the UEFA Youth League, where the club will once again represent Malta on the European stage next season.

Grech emphasised that this success is only the beginning, insisting that the foundation being built at youth level will be crucial for the club’s future. He expressed pride in everyone involved, from players to staff and supporters, who backed the vision through its early stages.

For Grech, the title is not the conclusion of a project, but the start of a new era focused on sustainability, development, and long-term success at Valletta FC.
