Valletta FC and Gżira United Report Alleged Match‑Fixing Approach

Valletta FC and Gżira United FC have confirmed that they immediately alerted the Malta Football Association’s Integrity Officer after receiving information regarding an alleged match‑fixing attempt ahead of last Saturday’s FA Trophy Final. Both clubs acted jointly and without hesitation, filing a formal report as soon as the matter came to their attention.

The MFA’s competent authorities launched investigations and subsequent actions based directly on the information submitted by the two clubs. Valletta and Gżira stressed that they maintain an uncompromising position against any form of match manipulation, sports corruption, or behaviour that undermines the integrity of Maltese football.

Club officials from both sides reiterated their full commitment to supporting and cooperating with the authorities throughout the ongoing process. They emphasised that safeguarding the credibility of the game remains a shared responsibility and a fundamental priority.
