Ton Ton Laferla Shines as RMYC Winter Series Heads for Thrilling Finale

The penultimate race of the RMYC Winter Series by Beneteau delivered another afternoon of excitement as the fourth pursuit race unfolded outside Marsamxett Harbour. With competition split between the IRC and Club Class fleets, teams pushed hard to secure crucial points ahead of the decisive final race.
In the IRC division, Ton Ton Laferla once again proved dominant, claiming a second consecutive victory. Anthony Calleja’s Lartista followed in second place, a result that lifts the team to the top of the provisional standings. David Anastasi’s Pippus finished third and now sits level on points with Godwin Zammit’s Inspiration, keeping the battle for podium positions wide open.
The RMYC Club Class saw another strong showing from Martin Kunath’s Forever25, which secured the win ahead of Matthew Zarb Cousin’s Thunder Child and Ali Namli’s Exaltor. Thunder Child continues to lead the overall standings, with Forever25 close behind and Roderick Zahra’s Irie in third.
With the discard rule coming into effect for the final race on 18 April, several positions are expected to shift, setting the stage for a dramatic conclusion to the series. The Royal Malta Yacht Club thanked Mediterranean Yacht Sales for their support and announced preparations for the upcoming RMYC Spring Weekend Regatta, taking place between 28 and 31 March.
