Three Maltese players have secured places in Malta’s national teams in their respective categories after winning the finals of the tournaments organised by the Malta Blackball Pool Association.

These competitions formed part of the third men’s ranking tournament in the qualification process for this year’s Blackball World Cup, which will be held in London, England. The points accumulated throughout these tournaments play an important role in determining the players who will have the honour of representing Malta at this prestigious international event.

In the Men’s category, Clayton Castaldi claimed an important victory in the final after defeating Gilmoure Scicluna 10-5. On his way to the final, Castaldi overcame Antoine Schembri in the semi-final, while Scicluna eliminated Gary Carr.

In the Coop Services Under-23 Tournament, Casdy Vella was the winner after defeating Steven Muscat 10-7 in the final. In the semi-finals, Vella defeated Nordai Desira, while Muscat secured his place in the final with a victory over Mikhail Mansueto.

In the Coop Services Under-18 Tournament, Dielyn Edwards emerged victorious following a closely contested final against Nick Muscat, which ended 8-6. Edwards defeated Shazen Ciantar in the semi-final, while Muscat reached the final after overcoming Ayken Gambin.

With these results, Clayton Castaldi, Casdy Vella and Dielyn Edwards have earned their places in Malta’s national squads in their respective categories, as preparations continue for future international commitments.
