Three Maltese U17 Players Earn Prestigious Trials With Pescara Calcio

Three Maltese U17 players have secured valuable opportunities abroad after being selected for trials with Italian club Pescara Calcio, marking an encouraging step forward for Maltese youth football. Matthew Higgans of Ħamrun Spartans, who also forms part of the Malta U16 National Team, has been invited for the second time, reflecting the strong impression he left during his previous trial and the steady progress he continues to show.
He is joined by Kayden Pace of Sliema Wanderers, whose athleticism, technical quality and consistent performances have earned him recognition beyond local competition. Pace’s development this season has positioned him as one of the standout players in his age group.
Also travelling to Italy is Kuylon Aquilina of Pietà Hotspurs, a homegrown talent who has risen through the club’s academy and now represents the Malta U17 National Team. His intelligence on the ball and physical presence have made him a key prospect.
These opportunities come as part of ongoing efforts by GM Marketing & Sport, which continues to open international pathways for Maltese players by facilitating exposure and professional trials abroad.
