Thea Parnis and Isaac Bonnici Named Rush Athletic Club Athletes of the Year 2025

Rush Athletic Club closed an exceptional 2025 athletics season with its Annual Awards Night, where Thea Parnis and Isaac Bonnici were honoured as the Rush Athletic Club Athletes of the Year 2025. Both athletes enjoyed outstanding seasons, dominating the national scene and shining on the international stage.
Parnis and Bonnici represented Malta at major competitions including the European Team Championships, the Balkan Games, and the Games of the Small States of Europe (GSSE). At the GSSE, Parnis captured a bronze medal in the 100m and silver in the 4x100m relay, while Bonnici secured silver medals in the mixed relay and the 4x400m relay. Their year was further highlighted by multiple medal performances and several national records, firmly establishing them among Malta’s elite athletes.
Rush Athletic Club also celebrated strong international representation across all age groups. Kurt Zahra earned a GSSE relay silver, while other athletes proudly competed at events such as the London Indoor Games and the European Kids Athletics Games.
At youth level, Kayla Slack, Leah Frendo, and Carey Spiteri claimed a bronze relay medal at the ISF Games, with Kayleigh Anne Ellul adding two bronzes in the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles. Numerous athletes broke category records, rounding off a remarkable and memorable year for Rush Athletic Club.
