A week later, Senglea Gunners will contest another important final, this time the Twanny Agius Fair Play Cup against Naxxar Victorians.

Following last weekend’s draws for all the competitions of the association, which is celebrating 70 years of operation, 14 teams will compete this season, with seven teams in the First Division and another seven in the Second Division.

Valletta St Paul’s, Valletta Stars St Dominic, Attard Edex Kings, Swieqi United AFC, Marsa St Michael, San Ġiljan Saints and Senglea Gunners will form the First Division.

Balluta Barracudas, Gudja Wanderers, San Ġwann Pro Evolution Academy, Ħamrun Sporting, Naxxar Victorians, and the two new teams, Sliema NB and Gżira Black Bulls, will compete in the Second Division.

In addition to the two league competitions, the Knockout competition will also be played, while the MAFA Christmas Cup will return after an eight-year absence.

In a brief speech during a live broadcast on social media, MAFA General Secretary David Abdilla thanked the teams that confirmed their participation in the association and welcomed the two new teams.

He said it would be another busy season, with more than 110 matches to be played at Marsaxlokk and Ħal Qormi grounds.
