Tesse names 26-player Malta women’s squad for Luxembourg friendly

Malta Women’s National Team head coach Manuela Tesse has named a provisional 26-player squad for Friday’s international friendly against Luxembourg at the Centenary Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00.
The match will give Tesse and her coaching staff an opportunity to assess the players ahead of Malta’s next competitive commitments, while also providing valuable international experience to members of the squad.
The four goalkeepers selected are Maya Cachia, Raisa Costantino, Giulia D’Antuono and Janice Xuereb.
The defensive options include Fiona Buttigieg, Leanne Cefai, Jessica Lee Dimech, Alexandra Gatt, Emma Lipman, Georgiana Mifsud, Valentina Rapa and Shona Zammit.
In midfield, Tesse has called up Jana Barbara, Brenda Borg, Rachel Cuschieri, Maia Debono, Ema Micallef, Veronique Mifsud and Nicole Sciberras.
The forward line features Haley Bugeja, Yulya Carella, Nyorah Celeste, Maria Farrugia, Jade Flask, Sara Saliba and Kailey Willis.
The squad features players based both in Malta and abroad, including representatives from clubs in England, Italy, Germany and Austria.
The final squad will be confirmed closer to the match, with Malta set to turn their attention to the UEFA Women’s Nations League draw in November, where they will compete in League C.
