Team Malta Shines with Double Podium in Cyprus

Team Malta’s young badminton talents made a strong impression in Nicosia this week, securing two podium finishes at the prestigious VICTOR Cyprus Youth International 2025. The tournament brought together some of Europe’s most promising junior athletes, and Malta’s U15 squad rose confidently to the challenge.
In the Girls Singles U15 category, Julia Galea delivered a series of composed and determined performances, battling her way into the semi‑finals. Her consistency and competitive spirit earned her a well‑deserved third‑place finish — a proud moment for both her and the Maltese contingent.
Meanwhile, in the Mixed Doubles U15 event, Emma Bartoli, partnering Adam Bardenstein, showcased excellent teamwork and tactical awareness. The pair advanced impressively through the draw, ultimately securing another third‑place podium for Malta after a strong semi‑final run.
These achievements highlight the growing strength of Malta’s youth development programme and the dedication of the entire squad and coaching staff. Their performances in Cyprus reflect not only talent but also discipline, resilience, and national pride.
A brilliant week for Team Malta, and a promising sign of what’s ahead for the island’s rising badminton stars. Safe travels home to the whole delegation.
