Team Malta Returns To World University Games After Decade

Malta is proudly making its return to the FISU World University Games after a ten-year absence, sending its largest team in recent memory to compete in the 2025 edition held in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany, from 16 to 27 July.

A delegation of 12 student athletes, made up of current University of Malta students and alumni, will represent the country across four sporting disciplines: athletics, badminton, judo and tennis.

The event, one of the biggest international multi-sport competitions for university athletes, brings together over 5,000 participants from across the globe.

Team Malta joined thousands of athletes and supporters during the opening ceremony, where the national team marched alongside competitors from around the world in front of an audience of more than 20,000 spectators.
