Swieqi Phoenix Crowned Volleyball Superleague Champions

Swieqi Phoenix Volleyball celebrated another landmark achievement on Sunday afternoon after the senior women’s team, supported by NIUM, were crowned champions of the National Superleague with an impressive 3-1 victory over Falcons.

The championship trophy was presented to the team by MVA president Branko Vlahovic, capping off a dominant season for the Swieqi-based club. The triumph marks the fourth Superleague title in six years for Swieqi Phoenix Volleyball, underlining the team’s status as one of the leading forces in Maltese volleyball.

This latest success adds to an already outstanding campaign, with the club also securing the National Cup earlier in the season to complete a memorable domestic double. The team had effectively wrapped up the league title as early as February thanks to a string of consistent performances throughout the campaign.

Club President Orlando Bonnici praised the commitment shown by both coaches and players, saying their hard work and determination were key to the club’s latest success. He also thanked sponsors NIUM for their continued backing over recent years.

Technical Director Leonard Zammit Munro highlighted the squad’s unity, noting how experienced veterans and younger players combined effectively throughout the season to deliver an exceptional title-winning campaign.
