Swan League Matchday 1 Recap: Msida Saints Register Big 6-0 Win In Opening Match

Msida Saints produced the standout performance of the opening round, cruising to a 6-0 victory over SGB Salesjani at Żebbuġ Ground despite being reduced to ten men.
The Saints were already three goals ahead when Brendan Borg was sent off in the 59th minute, but the setback did little to disrupt their momentum. Andrea Borg then took centre stage, scoring twice in the space of three minutes to complete a remarkable individual display.
Borg had already played a key role in three of Msida's first four goals, providing assists for John Ishaya in the 34th minute, Gift Chukwuemeka Ndubuisi in the 40th and Klajdi Qose in the 47th. Qose had opened the scoring in the 27th minute following a pass from Mustapha Isah Abdullah.
Borg eventually found the net himself in the 66th and 68th minutes, with Ndubuisi supplying the assist for his second goal. His two goals and three assists made him the clear Man of the Match.
Elsewhere, Gżira Exalt defeated Mrieħel Devon 3-1, with Linares Andres Felipe Aguilera scoring twice after the sides were level at half-time.
Madliena Maleth Albion came from behind to beat Sliema Wolves 2-1, while Paola Kordin and Mosta Legion played out the round's only draw, a 1-1 stalemate.
The four opening-round fixtures produced 15 goals, with five players scoring twice and Andrea Borg also registering three assists.
