Sue Mercieca submits candidacy for MOC Secretary General

Sue Mercieca has formally submitted her candidacy for the position of Secretary General of the Maltese Olympic Committee ahead of the election scheduled for 25 March. A lawyer, former TV journalist and experienced sports administrator, Mercieca brings more than twenty years of legal practice, four years as a Director on the MOC Board, and five years as Secretary General of Aquahub Malta.

Her background also includes service on Malta’s Anti-Doping Disciplinary Board, along with coaching certifications from the IAAF and British Swimming. Announcing her candidacy, Mercieca highlighted her drive and versatility, noting that her combined experience in law, media and sport places her in a strong position to support Maltese athletes and federations.

“I bring energy to everything I do and I don’t shy away from a challenge,” she said. Her application will now be reviewed by the MOC Electoral Commission in the lead-up to next month’s vote.
