Starlites crowned BOV First Division champions after historic title run

Starlites Revive capped a remarkable and historic campaign by winning the BOV Basketball First Division League title, defeating Hibernians 3–2 in a thrilling best‑of‑five playoff series. The championship triumph sealed a season defined by dominance, resilience and consistency, with the Naxxar club completing the regular season unbeaten before carrying that momentum into a title‑winning postseason run.

Hibernians shocked Starlites in the opening game, edging a 95–90 victory, but Starlites responded with authority. They levelled the series with an 85–73 win in Game 2 and then took control through a commanding 100–84 performance in Game 3. Hibernians forced a decider with an 88–83 win in Game 4, setting up a dramatic finale.

In the decisive Game 5, Starlites delivered a composed and dominant display, defeating Hibernians 98–77. After a tight opening quarter, Starlites surged ahead with a powerful second‑quarter run, building a 56–37 halftime lead. Threadgill led the scoring with 28 points, while Musa Jallow added 25, continuing the form that earned him the Finals MVP award.

The league title completed a clean sweep of major domestic honours, with Starlites having already lifted the Super Cup, Joe Tabone Shield, and BOV National Knock‑Out Trophy sealing one of the greatest seasons in the club’s history.
