ST. ANDREWS AND HIBERNIANS SECURE KEY WINS IN YOUTH LEAGUES

The latest round of youth football fixtures delivered plenty of drama and goals across Malta’s U17 and U15 leagues.

In U17 League A, St. Andrews claimed an important 2-0 victory over Fgura United, strengthening their position in the standings. Mosta impressed with a commanding 3-0 win against San Gwann, while Pietá Hotspurs edged Ħamrun Spartans 1-0 in a tightly contested match. Valletta secured a solid 2-0 triumph over Melita, and Floriana earned a hard-fought 2-1 win against Sliema Wanderers.

Over in U17 League B, Hibernians maintained their lead at the top with a 2-0 success against Balzan. Żabbar St. Patrick came out on top in a thrilling 4-3 encounter with Qormi, while Naxxar Lions defeated Gozo 1-0. Kirkop United and Marsaskala shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, and Mellieħa and Birkirkara played out a goalless stalemate.

The U15 League C saw Pembroke Athleta and Birżebbuġa Windmill finish 2-2, Mellieħa win a high-scoring 6-4 battle against Marsaxlokk, and Żurrieq beat Swieqi United 2-1. Luqa St. Andrews dominated Żebbuġ Rangers 7-1, while Qormi overcame Kirkop United 3-1.

In U15 League D, Dingli Swallows defeated Sirens 5-2, Għaxaq beat Mqabba 4-2, and Mtarfa cruised past Siġġiewi with a 5-0 victory. Mġarr United rounded off the action with a convincing 4-1 win over Gżira United.
