Sophia Curmi smashes national U16 hammer throw record with superb 55.23m performance

Sophia Curmi has written another remarkable chapter in Maltese athletics, delivering a stunning 55.23m throw to win the women’s Hammer Throw competition and set another National U16 Record. Her latest achievement continues an exceptional rise for the young thrower, who has already been identified as one of Malta’s brightest emerging talents.

Curmi has been steadily improving throughout the season, recently opening her outdoor campaign with a record-breaking 52.72m throw, surpassing the previous U16 best by more than two metres.
