Sliema Wanderers Get Second Consecutive Win With 2-1 Victory Over Marsaxlokk

Sliema Wanderers claimed their second consecutive win after beating Marsaxlokk 2-1 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium in yesterday's only Malta Premier League fixture.

Diego Camara Calleja fired Sliema in front in the 25th minute, with Semir Smajlagic equalising for Marsaxlokk five minutes later. Sliema restored their lead through Vlatko Drobarov in the 44th minute, a goal which proved to be the difference maker on an afternoon which saw Sliema claim their second consecutive win after beating Żabbar St Patrick’s in their midweek fixture.

Sliema have now momentarily moved to joint second place with Marsaxlokk. Both teams have 17 points, with Marsaxlokk currently ahead due to goal difference. Floriana face Żabbar St Patrick’s on Monday, with the chance to leapfrog both teams in second place.
